In June 2022 we were delighted to attend the opening of the Extended BA show to present prizes, donated by the Charitable Trust, to students showcasing outstanding work and personal values.

Ross Middleham gave a speech alongside Helen Markes, Senior Lecturer & Subject Leader of the Extended BA (Hons) degree.

Ross commented that he was blown away by the talent and loved sucking up all the inspiration around the show. He went on to give an overview of the work of the Charitable Trust in supporting the University in enabling access to creative learning.

He noted that even if people didn’t receive an award, that they were all winners because they had completed the course. They made it happen… the essence of creativity.

He also gave an insight from his perspective as Creative Lead at the Met Office on why creativity is important in businesses and in life, helping to keep us asking questions, exploring, innovating and having fun.

He encouraged the students to keep on doing all of those things and working on stuff they love, ending on a high.

You all have amazing skills that can make a huge difference to the world
